The owners of the Dubuque Bishop's, Curt Pooley and Rod Crowe would like to welcome you to Bishop's.

Bishop's is one of the few businesses who were among the original occupants of the Kennedy Mall, when it opened in 1970. And it's remained one of its most popular destinations.

Rod started with Bishop's in High School bussing tables for the original Bishop's on the main floor of the Ellis Hotel in Waterloo Iowa. After college, Rod worked in every position in the restaurant and became a General Manager with Bishop's in Peoria Illinois in 1981.  Rod and his family moved to Dubuque in October of 2000.  During 2003 Curt, Rod , and some others bought 9 of the Bishop's from Furr's Cafeterias. In September of 2006 Rod and Curt purchased the Dubuque location.

Rod and Curt are active in the community:  supporting Clarke College Athletics, Valentine Dinner for couples married 50 years or more.  They also give free meals to veterans on Veteran's day from 11-4.  They also participate in the local scrip program for non-profit organizations such as schools and churches.  This means 5% -10% of every gift book they sell belongs to them.  This year they are branching out with a fundraising event for Findley Mobile Meals on May 16th.  Local organizations know that they can always count on Bishop's for free meal passes for their fundraising events.  These total in the hundreds of meals each year.

So, when you come support Bishop's, know you are also helping them support the community.

This year Bishop's continues its string of Best Fest wins. Bishop's has won the Best Desert and Best Buffet honors every year of the competition, eight years in all.
